Skid plates
Skid plates for ATVs and UTVs are essential for protecting critical components such as the engine, drivetrain and suspension during off-road and work-related use. Machines used in forestry, agriculture and utility applications are exposed to rocks, stumps and uneven terrain where factory plastic protection is often insufficient.
Built for real working conditions
ATVs and UTVs are built for off-road use, but in real working conditions, standard protection is often not enough. Whether the vehicle is used in forestry, agriculture, property maintenance or general off-road driving, the environment is similar - rocks, stumps, mud, uneven terrain and limited space to manoeuvre.
Factory-installed skid plates or plastic guards are typically designed with cost and weight in mind. In practice, they offer limited impact resistance and can fail under heavier use. Some vehicles are delivered with minimal protection, leaving key components exposed to damage during normal off-road operation.
This directly affects how the machine can be used. Instead of focusing on the task, the operator has to avoid obstacles, reduce speed and work more carefully. Over time, this reduces efficiency and increases the likelihood of costly repairs.
Iron Baltic was founded to solve this exact problem.
Protection that works in real use
Since 2006, we have been developing ATV and UTV skid plates designed for real working conditions. What started with hand-made solutions for specific models has grown into a wide range of aluminium and HDPE skid plates covering most common ATV and UTV platforms.
Material choice plays an important role. Aluminium skid plates provide strong, rigid protection against impacts, while HDPE (high-density polyethylene) skid plates offer smooth sliding over obstacles, reduced friction and resistance to corrosion and chemicals. Both solutions are developed for durability in demanding environments.
Installation systems are designed to be secure and practical, allowing the skid plates to be mounted without unnecessary modification. The goal is simple - protection that works in real use, not just in theory.
Development is continuous. Products are tested in real conditions and improved based on feedback from users, partners and vehicle manufacturers. This ensures compatibility with new ATV and UTV models and changing usage requirements.
The result is straightforward: reliable underbody protection that allows the machine to be used as intended - without hesitation.
